Two inspirations:

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me,
And I shall spend all my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we’ve no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I’m tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people’s gardens and learn to spit ...
But maybe I ought to practise a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old and start to wear purple.

(From Rose in the Afternoon and Other poems by Jenny Joseph)

An Aztec song:

Here through art I shall live forever
A singer from my heart I strew my songs,
My fragrant songs before the face of others
I carve a great stone, I paint thick wood
My song is in them.
It will be spoken of when I am gone.
I shall leave my song image on earth,
My heart shall live, it will come back,
My memory will live

I flipped to the front. The Worn Archive: A fashion journal about the art, ideas and history of what we wear. An anthology from the long-gone Canadian magazine Worn, the volume featured vintage-laden editorial spreads alongside thoughtful essays about the iconic Palestinian keffiyah replica handbags uk and Ghandi's fashion politics. Hooked, I headed to the secondhand bookstore counter to pay. The Worn Archive used clothing as a way to understand history and society and ralph lauren outlet identity and relationship. Yet it did so with such jocular whimsy that reading it felt more like going to a party with a bunch of fashion fanatics than sitting in on a oakley replica lecture. My only disappointment? I came across it too late to subscribe. Worn published its last issue in 2016. If it was this good, why couldn't Worn survive past replica prada its first decade? The answer perhaps reveals as much about fashion media as a whole as it does any one publication.
